SCHOOL CLOSURE UPDATE 25 MARCH 11am

As you are no doubt aware the school has now closed until further notice. There is a range of advice which will continue to be updated in the coming days and weeks.

In addition the prime minister has strengthened the advice for all to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. A such I would ask that if you wish to contact the school you can do so by email using the links on the Pupil and Parent learning guides below and right.

You can access the latest advice by clicking on the 'Latest Advice' link below.

Staff are continuing to work on providing teaching and learning via digital learning such as Glow and Show My Homework. Links to these sites are below. Advice papers for Parents can be accessed on the links on the right of the front page of our website. We would ask that parents and pupils be patient - the digital systems being used to facilitate 'remote learning' are overwhelmed with the huge increase in demand - and therefore many are running slowly, or are not functioning properly at all times. There is nothing we at the school can do to fix this.

Young people in S4-S6 who have particular assignments to complete that cannot be completed online will be give advice following statements from the SQA once they become available. The lastest information from the SQA is available via the link above, along with advice from UCAS for S6 pupils applying to university. Pupils in S4-S6 should not come to the school to finish coursework. This advice has been given by the Scottish Government and must be followed. It is important to understand that to follow government advice and to increase social distancing that we follow this advice carefully.

We will continue to follow the emerging advice from health professionals and the Scottish Government.  Any parents who think their child has symptoms should contact NHS24 on 111 or contact their GP and follow their advice. Here is the link to the website with the most current guidance.

Lifelink Counselling Services has now gone remote to enable the delivery of counselling sessions by telephone or video call during this time of social distancing.

Counselling sessions will take the form of telephone or video sessions based on the young person’s preference and will still work in-line with the regular counselling model of delivery. Plans are already in place to continue supporting those pupils in our school already benefitting from this support but new referrals can be made either by calling 0141 552 4434 or online at Lifelink.org.uk https://www.lifelink.org.uk/make-a-referral/ .
